We are on the brink of a brand new year and my thoughts turn to those things that are close to my heart, that bring love and good will in abundance, and enrich my life. Over the years I have discovered something; It’s not the big dreams or even acquiring what my heart was sure I wanted that has brought me the most joy. I have found that the little things, those that are right under my nose and so unpretentious are the bits of sunshine that brighten my life. The smell of fresh coffee in the morning, my little puppy Eva’s bright face, snowflakes, dewey roses, sumptuous homemade soups, crisp winter walks and a chat with a friend, among others, all make my little corner of the world so much brighter.
My thoughts are with all of you as we begin a new year. My prayer is that each one of you will be filled with renewed hope and childlike anticipation. May all of your dreams come true. But more importantly, I wish for comfort and love for all of you, regardless of your situation. Let the light of new beginnings refresh your mind and encourage your heart.
Auld Lange Syne has been the traditional New Years Eve song for over 200 years and for good reason. It speaks of a time for reflection of the past and goodwill for the future, of enduring friendships that we cherish so much today….
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
And long, long ago.
So stay close to the people who matter and be good to yourself. Thank you so much for your loving support and wonderful friendship. I am so grateful for each and every one of you. Happy New Year!
Beautiful words. May the new year be kind to you. π
