Sometimes photos say it all and very few words are needed. One warm evening last September, my friends and I experienced a surprise meeting with a tall dancer on the winding medieval streets of this ancient seaport town just SW of Rome. She graciously waved us toward a tiny art gallery hosting an open house and party afterward. We decided to indulge….and very glad we did.

that sounds fun! I never heard of Terracina before, and it will be interesting to stop by when I visit Italy in the future

You will find it very interesting…there is also the remains of a temple of Jupiter on the hill above with gorgeous views of the Mediterranean and Terracina below.

What a wonderful experience and now still another charming medieval town to add to my list – maybe when I’m in Umbria this fall? Grazie for sharing!

I haven’t been to Terracina, but recently spent some time in Orvieto. Those medieval towns in Italy are just spectacular!

Hi Renee! Yes, they certainly are…kind of like a fairy tale experience. Terracina is on the coast so more spread out. There is an ancient site above the town, the Temple of Jupiter, that gives astounding views of Terracina and the Mediterranean. I wrote a post on it as well…
